The National Cyber Security Coordinator (the Coordinator), supported by the National Office of Cyber Security (NOCS), works across government, industry and the community to strengthen Australia's cyber resilience and support Australia's ambition to become a world-leading cyber secure nation.
The Coordinator directs:
- the coordination and triage of whole-of-economy action in response to a significant cyber incident
- engagement on whole-of-government cyber security
- prevention and preparation activities to help anticipate and mitigate the risk of cyber security incidents
- the coordination of cyber incident management frameworks across government.
The Coordinator also supports:
- Australian Government efforts to deter and respond to malicious cyber activity
- the development and delivery of cyber security policy across the Australian Government
- the hardening of Australian Government information technology (IT) through promoting commonwealth cyber security uplift.
The Coordinator leads this work in collaboration with the Minister for Cyber Security and the Australian Government's key policy, operational, law enforcement and security agencies.
We support the National Cyber Security Coordinator to achieve cyber preparedness, response, and recovery activities.
